Each month the staff will choose a client who we feel is deserving of the award based on the following criteria. Each Athlete of the Month will receive a T-shirt and credit towards future clinics or rentals.
The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things. – Ronald Reagan
A few months ago we acknowledged the 11u Martinez team, and one of their key players, Cian McCarthy for their great season going 22-2. Their great season was spearheaded by the chemistry these boys built with each other. As I watched one of their final games I listened to the communication they had in the field and the support they had for each other on the bench. A lot of it came from one of their new players who was a constant leader and teammate. Congrats to Luca Eleuteri, our August Athlete of the Month.
After bandits season was over, Luca continued his great year during Weymouth’s run through the districts and State tournament. Weymouth became State runner-up in Cal Ripken. Luca batted .392 and with 29 hits and 36 steals!! Weymouth Summer Coach, Rich Fazzi, said about Luca,
Luca showed growth throughout the spring and continued to build on that progress throughout the summer season putting together a very impressive summer season. His hard work, dedication and commitment to improving really stood out. He is a tremendous teammate, super positive, encouraging others, and bringing energy to the team. He is the type of player who makes everyone around him better.
Francisco Martinez, Luca’s Bandits Coach, said about Luca
I had the pleasure to work and coach Luca for the first time this year. At first, I was impressed with his speed, but then I got to know Luca, and learned there was much more there. Not only is Luca a wonderful teammate, a leader, very well behaved player, but also a wonderful kid. I never saw Luca down on himself or change his attitude when things weren’t going well. That says a lot about his character. He improved so much as a player within this past year and I can’t wait to see what year number two will look like for him. Congratulations Luca on being August 2026 athlete of the month. Very well deserved!
Congrats Luca on this award and everything in the future. – BBC
