When Pat first arrived to tryouts it was not a guarantee he was on the team.  However, we gave him a roster spot and throughout the winter he worked hard to prove he belonged.  Every practice, every drill, and every chance to compete became an opportunity to prove that he belonged. He reminded us that success isn’t always about where you start; it’s about what you do with the opportunities you’re given. Pat Walker proved his worth not with words, but through consistent effort, selflessness, and an unwavering belief in himself.  His story becomes an example to every player in our program that hard work, persistence, and the right attitude can turn a chance into a lasting impact.  Coach Joe Vannelli said about Joe, “In his first year in the program going into the season I had no idea what type of player he would be or what role he was going to have. He was very raw and could tell he wasn’t taught how to use his size or body at all. He grinded all winter learning from the coaches to refine his skills. He started off very slow hitting .120 at one point in the season but by the end of the year he became one of my best players hitting 5th and starting in center field. He finished with a .350 average.  This could not have happened for a nicer kid.”
