March 2023 Athletes of the Month
Chase Caruso
Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.
Kobe Bryant
I have never heard an excuse from Chase. I have only heard “Hi Coach.” I have heard him speak to his teammates and cheer them on. I have heard him say yes to his coaches when they give him some constructive criticism. I have never heard him make an excuse or complain about it being too hard. Chase Caruso, since the first day he walked in the building, has given everything he can to being a great baseball player, a great teammate, and a great role model for others to emulate. Congratulations to Chase Caruso, our March Athlete of the Month.
Chase tried out and joined our Bandits program last year as an 11 year old. His Coach Onix Mercado said, “Chase is a great teammate, great student, and a hard worker. He works on his skills most of the days during the week. He is one of the first ones to show up to practice and one of the last ones to leave. He is the type of player that a coach wants on his team. I am very proud of the young man he has become.”
Chase worked very hard last year and made the super 12 year old team this year. Throughout the winter when I saw Chase working it was always with a smile and a lot of energy and effort. He has fit right into his new team and has become a valuable member. Coach Richardi, his 12u Super coach reiterated about Chase, “Chase is new to the team this year and what a great pickup for us. All winter I would see him working out on his hitting and catching. It has been contagious because his teammates all want to hit the ball as hard as he does and he has also fallen into the role as leader. He is always leading by example with the work ethic on and off the field.”
Chase, thank you for all your hard work and we know you will keep it going. Good luck with everything in the future.
Thanks, Coach Joyce
